Betty Lee Shadder (Sing), age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Betty was born in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina to the late Alex and Minnie Singleton Sing.
She was the youngest of six siblings; Alex T, Tommy, James, Jeanette and Geraldine, all of whom have preceded her in death.
Betty's life was dedicated to Murrells Inlet. In her younger years, she worked in some of the finest of the Inlet's restaurants. She was well known and loved by all! She would even call strangers "Darlin". She was truly blessed to have spent so much of her time near the beautiful Murrells Inlet creek, something she loved very much.
Betty was an original member of The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 10240. This is where she met her loving husband of 34 years, Edward J. Shadder.
Some of her favorite hobbies and pastimes included painting, knitting, crocheting, and she had an avid love for shopping. She also handmade jewelry of all kinds. Her jewelry was unique and beautiful. She took great pride in making it.
She is survived by her dedicated husband, Edward J. Shadder. Surviving children are her three daughters; Randi Lynn Small, Kelly Elizabeth Shirley, and Kimberly Vereen Silver (Everette Dean Silver) and five loving grandchildren; Elton Brandon Small, Brena Lynn Small, Charles Dean Silver, Aiden Christopher Shirley, and Rebecca Cape Silver all of Murrells Inlet. Also, daughter Patricia Earley and grandson Alexander Earley of Victorville, California. Betty had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family that she loved very much.
She was predeceased by son Edward J. Shadder Jr. in May of 2021.
A celebration of life will be held creekside at Morse Park Landing, May 7, 2023 at 11:00am.
All are welcome.
