On Friday, January 27th, Bobby Joel Long, Sr., a beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father and Grandfather (Pop Pop) passed away at seventy-two surrounded by his children who he adored more than anything else in the world. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Bobby managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.  Born to Alberta and Joel Wilson Long December 24, 1950, Bobby graduated from Loris High School and joined The United States Air Force, while he was stationed at McGuire Airforce Base he met and married Cheryl Walker Long, and had two sons. Bobby worked for the Postal Service for 28 years.  He also continued to serve his country in The National guard where he retired after over 20 years.

Bobby loved spending time with his family and friends, grilling and watching his favorite cooking TV shows. He is survived by his sons, Bobby Joel Long Jr (Susan), Scott Adam Long (Angie), grandchildren Elizabeth Long, Patrick Long, Kassidy Long, Mason Long and Piper Dodds, his mother Alberta (Bert) Boruta who later the same day passed away, brothers Danny Long (Jojo), Dale Long (Gina), He was predeceased by his wife Cheryl Walker Long, father Joel Wilson Long, and brother Randy Long.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Buck Creek Baptist Church 11483 SC-905 Longs, SC 29568.
