Bonnie Lee Kowalkowski, 76, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away after a valiant battle with leukemia on June 12th, 2017.
Bonnie was born on September 13th, 1940 in Camden, New Jersey, a daughter to the late Francis and Winifred Rose. She graduated from Penns Grove High School in 1958.
Bonnie was a Lutheran and was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Conway, SC. She was most recently employed with Coastal Carolina University and worked in the admissions department.
She is survived by a large and loving family, including her sons Stephen Powers (fiancee Valerie Summerville) andJoseph Kowalkowski (wife Lori);grandchildren Mariah, Blaine (fiancee Erin Burkman), Braeden, Madilyn Kowalkowski and Sebastian Summerville; sisters Marie Brady (Ronald), Carol Buyarski (John); nieces and nephews; Aunt Catherine Beauchamp and several cousins. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents Francis and Winifred Rose, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service in Bonnie's honor will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 11:00 AM at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church at 2105 Highway 501 East in Conway, SC 29526 with Reverend Rick Weidman officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 AM and the memorial service will immediately follow at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at lls.org or P.O. Box #4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
