Carl D. "Don" Hunter Sr. 74, of Conway, SC went home to be with his Lord December 22nd, 2016. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 5th, 1942 in Blaney, SC, a son of the late Fred and Geneva Holland Hunter. Carl was also predeceased by siblings Raymond and Eulice Hunter.

Don was a Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, and Friend to many. He was a member of the Grand Strand Baptist Church for over 14 years. He worked in the elevator industry as a mechanic and engineer for 33 years.

Survivors include his loving wife Carolyn Sturkie Hunter; sons Carl D."Donnie" Hunter Jr (Tracy), and Robert (Robbie)Hunter; grandchildren Autumn Snelling (Matthew), Seth, Tyler, Garrett, and Bradley Hunter; great grandchild Jaxson Snelling; sister Evangeline Strickland; brother Seaman Hunter; sister in law Mary, Diane Hicks, Eva, Mamie Cope and Diane Higgs, Barbara Lucas and in brother in law Robert Sturkie and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to have a very private Celebration Of Life service at a later date.

All food donations can be sent to Street Reach Ministries of Myrtle Beach, SC. All monies can be sent to the Parkinson Foundation or Tidelands Hospice House of Georgetown, SC.
