Carol Ann Zeaman 1943 - 2017
Comedienne and Entertainer
Carol Ann Zeaman passed away on Thursday, February 9th, 2017, at her home in South Carolina.
Carol was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Harry Sonders. She was raised in Rochester, N.Y, and spent most of her adult life in Utica.
In her twenties and early thirties, Carol worked as a bank teller and hairdresser. In the late 1970's, she turned to her passion, comedy. At her core she was an entertainer. She tried her hand at stand-up and shortly after, saw an opportunity to create her own business, that's when Funtastic Party Entertainment was born. She was hired for retirement parties, graduations, weddings, anniversaries, and just about any event that called for fun and laughter. She developed many characters, but will be remembered by those who knew her best as Coco the Clown. Carol loved being around kids and performed at hundreds of children's birthday parties. She painted faces and became highly skilled at making intricate balloon animals. She successfully continued her business well into her sixties after relocating to Myrtle Beach.
Carol had a love for cats. Every day she would drive to the boat landing, down the street from her home, to feed the homeless felines. She called each one by name. Carol would be thrilled to know that her beloved house cat, Sammy, is happy and healthy, living on Long Island, being cared for by her niece.
Carol is survived by her two sons, Ian Zeaman and David Zeaman; her younger sister, Sharon Sonders; her niece, Lisa Hudson; and her two grandchildren, McKenzie Zeaman and two year old, Ashe Zeaman. Carol made four trips to New York City to see her baby grandson since he was born. No one made him laugh more joyously.
Carol's passing was unexpected and heartbreaking for her family and friends. She will be infinitely missed. She will be happily remembered. She will be eternally loved
