Carole Huguelet Godfrey was born on July 4, 1940 in Hamlet, NC. She was the daughter of the late Ernest T. Huguelet and Eva Long Huguelet of Hamlet. Carole graduated from Hamlet High School and studied art at St. Andrew's College. She later earned her Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from Horry Georgetown Technical College and assisted her husband with his computer businesses. She is predeceased by a brother, Dr. Theodore Huguelet (Marcella) of Sylva, NC. She is survived by her brother Dr. Eugene Huguelet (Joyce) of Wilmington, NC, her husband Eliot Godfrey of Loris, SC, a son, Jim Godfrey (Jewell) also of Loris. She is also survived by several nephews and a niece. Ellen Huguelet Arnold of Stuart, Fl, Charles Huguelet (Donna) of Cullowhee, NC, David Huguelet (Lauren) of St. Louis, Mo., William Huguelet (Kim) of Cullowhee, NC, and Frank Huguelet (Rita) of Sylva, NC.

Carole had an unwavering dedication to helping animals. This is all she would care to be remembered for. She was a supportive wife and loving mother. Her shelves are lined with the urns holding many of the animals who landed in her home. She can join them now over the Rainbow Bridge where there is no pain or reasons to not spend all our time with our best friends.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Arrangements are being made by Myrtle Beach Funeral Home and Crematorium.
