Charles Donald MacCormack III (Don) of Myrtle Beach, SC entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on the morning of January 5, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 74 years old.

He was born to Charles and Marion MacCormack in 1949 and grew up in Salisbury, MD and Jackson, TN.  He received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University and studied for his master's degree in environmental engineering at Memphis State University. His engineering career took him to Iowa, California, and Maryland before retiring in 2013.

He loved playing with his grandchildren, fishing, gardening, golfing, and worshipping the Lord at his church, Ignite Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was witty, gracious, kind, and quick to share the love of Jesus with those around him.  He often donated his time and resources to ministry projects and missions.

He is survived by his beloved wife of five years, Cindy; his second wife and friend, Karen Palmer and their children, Heidi (Chris) Kelly and Nathan; his stepchildren Janice Frye, Bart Hungerford, Phil (Kay) Hungerford, Joel (Lydia) Brown, Ben (Nichole) Brown and Deb (Dana) Mahanay and a multitude of loved and adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles; his mother Marion; sister, Christine; brother, Peter and third wife, Lois (d. 2018).

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 9, 7pm, at Ignite Church, 4808 N. Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Ignite Church marked MacCormack Memorial to be used for the local unhoused missions fund and the international bible translation ministry of Joel and Lydia Brown.
