Charles Lesesne Tyson, 62, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, in Georgetown. Born April 30, 1955, in Florence, he was the son of the late Dr. George Stackley Tyson and the late Louise Nettles Grimsley Tyson. He graduated from West Florence High School and attended Florence Darlington Technical College.
Lesesne, with his lifelong friend Derrick Temple, opened The Plantation Shutter Company May 10, 1989, supplying shutters both locally and up and down the East Coast. He was an avid outdoorsman and a voracious reader.
Lesesne is survived by the love of his life and wife, Debra; his step son, James Lopez and wife Kristin of North Charleston; a brother, Dr. George S. Tyson, Jr. and wife Anne of Lakeland, Florida; sisters Georgie-Anne Tyson Pruitt and husband Joseph of Florence, and Alexis Tyson Permenter and husband Donnie of Mullins; and eight nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly, and with him went on many adventures around town and explored the creeks and rivers of the Low Country.
Private services will take place at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or an organization of choice.
