Cynthia Mae Kruger Rittweger, age 70, died after a long battle with dementia on October 13th, 2022. She is survived by her two children, Matthew Harris (Myrtle Beach, SC) & his wife Samantha and Greg Harris (Riverside, CA) & his wife Sheryl along with their son Cole (6). Cindy was born in Buffalo, NY. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School (Class of 1970). After starting her family and settling down in Myrtle Beach, SC, Cindy went on to have a long and fulfilling career with the Myrtle Beach Police Department as their Animal Control Officer where she was able to spend her days caring for animals which was one of her passions. She retired from the police department in 2008. She was an avid Harley Davidson rider who also enjoyed camping and traveling, especially with her predeceased husband, Steve Rittweger.

Besides her children, Cindy is survived by her siblings, sisters Rose Marie, Virginia & Beverly and brother Jack, along with their families and many friends. Anyone who knew Cindy knew she never wanted a big fuss made when it came to her and unfortunately dementia stole many relationships away from her in her final years. In respect of her wishes, there will be no formal service. In lieu of a service and/or flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in her memory to the Grand Strand Humane Society.
