David "Dave" Eugene Dougherty, 69, of Little River, SC passed away from a heart attack in Myrtle Beach, SC on January 9th, 2018.
Dave was born on November 28th, 1948 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, a son to Dolly and Dick Dougherty. Dave served honorably in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Katie, on June 30th, 1990.
David is survived by his loving wife Katie and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Dolly.

David E. Dougherty , age 69 of Little River, SC, had a massive heart attack on Sunday, January 7, 2018 and died on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at the Myrtle Beach Hospital, SC.

David Dougherty was the son of Richard E. Dougherty and Dolly B. (Ramey) Dougherty and was born on November 28, 1948 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. In 1951 the family moved to Downey, CA.

David's father Richard was killed in an industrial accident on April 19, 1955. September 4, 1956 David's mother Dolly married Richard's brother Don Dougherty. The family lived in Whittier ,CA; Paradise Valley, AZ; Seattle, WA; Cupertino, CA and New Hope, MN. David graduated from Paradise Valley, AZ , High School in 1967.

David joined the Army for 3 years in 1968 and served in Germany. He married Karen Kaul from Minnetonka,MN in 1969. Their daughter Rachel was born on December 30, 1971 and they lived in Minneapolis, MN. They divorced in 1972. David married Willie Bullis in1975 and they moved to San Diego, CA. They had 3 children, Aurora, and twins, Keegan and Billy. David and Willie divorced in 1982 and David moved back to Minneapolis.

David and Katie Bulger, from St Anthony, MN, married on June 28, 1990. They lived in Minneapolis, Maple Grove, and Montrose, MN and Little River, SC.

David graduated in Auto Body Repair from Dunwoody in Minneapolis and worked at various jobs around the city. David enjoyed sports and was a very skilled model builder.

He is survived by his wife Katie and his four children, Rachel (Evan) Cutler and their 3 children of Waxhaw, NC, and Aurora, Keegan and Billy Dougherty of Imperial Beach, CA. ,David's sister Connie Dougherty of Chaska, MN, and Sharon (Tom) Starks of Shorewood, MN and stepfather (uncle) Don Dougherty of Minnetonka, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father Richard E. Dougherty and mother Dolly B. Dougherty.

David's desire was to be cremated and his ashes scattered over the ocean area that he so loved in Myrtle Beach, SC. We love him and will miss him dearly.
