Donald Brandt McCombs, 89 years old, passed away peacefully at his home on January 12, 2017.

He is survived by his loving partner in life Lorraine Lake; his son William McCombs and his wife Donna of Florida, his daughter Dawn Bartlett and her husband John of Connecticut; his daughter Cheryl Bartlett of Connecticut; his grandchildren Rick Doehr. Michael Bartlett, Jessica Bartlett, Andrew Bartlett and Samantha Lake and his great grandchildren Justin Doehr, Alicia Doehr, Mia Bartlett, and Aubree Bartlett. He adored his family and friends.

Don served in the Navy as a Frogman during WWII and was so proud to be a veteran. Born in Bridgeport Connecticut he worked as an industrial engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft for 38 years. He also worked for Pinkerton Security and was Chief of the Danbury Fair Grounds and Stock Car Races. After moving to Myrtle Beach he worked as a Starter on the golf course and at the airport moving cars. He loved golf and was an avid reader but most of all he loved people and would talk to everyone.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Kim Butler for her extraordinary end of life care.
