Doris Elaine Simon, 87, of Florence, SC passed away on August 30, 2024. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 21, 1937 to the late William F. Plotts, Sr. and Helen A. Robinelt.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Donald, her brother William F. Plotts, Jr., twin brother Donald A. Plotts and son, Kenneth A. Simon (Rosemarie).

She and her husband Donald raised their family living on Long Island, N.Y. for 32 years. Retirement brought them to Surfside Beach, SC where they enjoyed another 23 years together. She was a resident at The Manor in Florence for the last 6 years and had developed many strong friendships. She cherished her time traveling to visit with her growing family. Doris worked 15 years for defense company AIL Corporation that later became Eaton in Deer Park, N.Y. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach, SC as well as several square dance clubs.

Doris is survived by her son, Robert W. Simon (Michele) of Fort Mill, SC, granddaughters Elizabeth M. Proscia (Anthony), Stephanie A. Lang (Daniel), Melissa A. Witbeck (Daniel), Keriann N. Deegan (Andrew) and grandson, Michael A. Simon (Brittney Fritz) and 12 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Doris will be held at a future date. Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
