After a long and valiant battle with Crohn's disease, Duane J. Lyons left behind his pain and illness on Tuesday, November 24, at age 43.

Born in Long Island, NY., Duane was a long-time resident of Myrtle Beach, SC. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Coastal Carolina University, earning a bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Early Childhood Education. His dream of being a teacher or school counselor was derailed by his illness, but it didn't stop him from packing a tremendous amount of living into his short life.

A fan of nature, art, concerts, movies, good food, Celtic lore and legend, comics, Pokemon, wolves, dragons, and all things fantastical, Duane's loving spirit and kindness touched all who knew him.

Those he left to carry his memory include his mother, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 3 nieces, a nephew, aunts, cousins, and a plethora of friends.
