Edward R. Krauss of Calabash NC passed on February 9, 2023 at the age of 87.

He was a loved dad, uncle, and kind friend to many. He led a life of adventure and fearless hard work; his first job working in a dynamite plant then later sailing the Great Lakes as a Merchant Marine. He then became a skilled scaffold rigger & project foreman; restoring skyscrapers, landmark buildings and churches in New York City. Ed retired to coastal NC in 1994 and enjoyed walking the beaches; landscaping and gardening. He also enjoyed helping his neighbors in any way needed.

Ed is survived by his son Edward E. Krauss, Largo FL; daughter Terri L. Krauss, Calabash NC and his sister Joan (Andrew) Hinch, Joliet IL. And nieces Valerie (Kevin) Turpin; Sheryl (Gary) Dudek; Syndy (Richard) Rodriquez and nephew Paul (Jodie) Ostoich. As well as many grand nieces and nephews. Ed is also survived by his partner Sally Dukette Strescino, Longs SC and predeceased by partner Maxine Weber Ohlbach and wife Karen J. Krauss. Edward is also predeceased by his grandniece Clelia (Sanchez) Turpin; niece Sonda Lee and sister Grace Ostoich, Hudson MI.
