Rev. Edwin L Strickland, age 85 passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, with his wife by his side. He was born July 31, 1939, in Columbus County, North Carolina to the late Stanford Strickland and the late Josie O. Strickland. Mr. Strickland was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend to many. He pastored churches in Horry County. He retired from Horry County Public Works Department.

Survivors include his cherished wife, Barbara of sixty years, his son, Matthew Edwin of whom he loved dearly, sister, Johnsie Strickland, and his beloved dog, Nafta, two nephews, Michael Rose and Reggie Rose.

Mr. Strickland was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Rose and husband, Walter C. Rose.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:15 until the time of service at Cane Branch Baptist Church in which he was a longtime member, with Pastor Jon Johnson, and a longtime friend, and brother in Christ, Winston Todd. Burial will be private at a later date.
