On September 1, 2019, Eric "Phil" Cooper passed away peacefully at Conway Medical Center following a brief illness. Phil will forever be remembered by his mother Norine Taylor, his children Cierra Cooper and Eric Reams (Jamie), grandson Leo Reams, brothers Charles "Peewee" Cooper (Bonnie) and Mitch Cooper (Lynn), sisters Debbie Cooper (Holly) and Tammie Stevens (Randy), friend and former employer, Jerry Herling, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Erika Esparza Cooper, father Herbert "Price" Cooper, and two brothers Landy Floyd Cooper and Stevie Cooper.
Phil was born on August 2, 1957 in Conway, South Carolina. He was known for his playful and caring spirit by all who knew him. Phil always had a joke ready and a helping hand for a friend. He loved to celebrate life, Christmas, family gatherings, and his mama whenever he had the chance. Phil was a die-hard Dale Earnhardt and Clemson Tiger fan who enjoyed watching NASCAR races, football games, and collecting memorabilia. He was a registered organ donor and his corneas will be used to help another person to see.
A celebration of Phil's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14th at Free Worship Church on Hampton Road in Conway, SC. Visitation will be at 3 pm.
