Fredrick Joseph Wheeler, 76, of Conway, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Friday the 11th of September 2026 in his home.

Fred was extremely proud of 50+ years of marriage to the love of his life

Joyce Ann (Bertram) Wheeler and they retired from Western New York together to Conway in 2014 (to avoid the snow)

They enjoyed the rich history of the area and were frequently seen together at places like Carolina Opry, BrookGreen Gardens, walking the beach and every kind of local program that allowed them to get out and talk to people.

Fred loved to help folks and always met them with a firm handshake and a big smile.

Fredrick Joseph Wheeler was born April the 4th 1950 in Syracuse, NY and was the youngest of five children.

Fred is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Wheeler (Bertram) of Conway, South Carolina, His eldest son Shawn Wheeler and his wife Michelle Wheeler (Humphrey), Daughter Kelly Fernandez (Wheeler) her husband Rick Fernandez with two grandchildren Mikensie and Mykel Fernandez, and youngest son Aaron Wheeler and his wife Kassandra Wheeler (Maurizio).

A celebration of life will take place at a later date back in New York State where the majority of his family resides.
