Gary Leroy Logue, 73, of Conway, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Conway Medical Center after suffering a heart attack at his home. Born in Cumberland, Maryland, he was the son of the late Paul Logue Sr. and the late Doris Shaffer Logue Mortimer. His stepfather, Elson Mortimer, Bedford, PA and his half-brother, Greg Logue, of Ellerslie, MD also preceded him in death.
Gary was a graduate of Bedford High School located in Bedford, Pennsylvania. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy. He then began his career at Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, a subsidiary of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Cumberland, Maryland. Gary retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company located in Akron, OH in 2010, after 40 years of service. After retirement, Gary was able to fulfill his dream of spending his retirement years in the Myrtle Beach area.
Gary was a member of Jamestown Baptist Church in Conway, South Carolina, where he was active in Sunday School, Men's Bible Study, and community outreach programs and projects. Prior to joining Jamestown Baptist, he was a member of Langston Baptist Church, also in Conway.
Gary loved the outdoors. He spent time at the beach, working in his yard, biking, and kayaking on the Waccamaw River in Conway. Gary had a very sharp mind. He enjoyed games such as Rummikub, reading, and completing crossword puzzles, word searches, and sudoku puzzles.
Gary leaves behind his beloved wife, Cathy Fairgrieve Logue. Gary and Cathy would have celebrated their 25 th wedding anniversary later this year. He is also survived by his four children Christie Logue Wakefield (Daniel), Bedford, PA; Aaron Logue (Jenny), Jacksonville, FL; Mindee Logue McDonald (Aaron) Raeford, NC; and Corey Logue, Clinton, OH; and stepsons Chad Kenney (Joanna), Watertown, SD and Cody Kenney (Meghan), Atwater, OH.
Beloved grandchildren include Joshua and Hannah Wakefield; Alyssa and Jacey McDonald; Katy, Dani, and Jessie Logue; Julian Kenney; Renley Kenney; and a great granddaughter, Valerie Martinez.
Gary is survived by a brother Paul Logue Jr. (Nancy), Bedford, PA, and a sister Connie Logue Fisher Miller (Mike), Conway, SC; stepmother, Colleen Logue, Ellerslie, MD; a stepsister, Paula DeLawder (Tom), Ellerslie, MD; a stepbrother R. Dent Mortimer (Linda), Bedford, PA; and half-sisters Marla Logue Niland (Eric), Ellerslie, MD and Annette Logue Bridges (Blaine), Cresaptown, MD. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Gary will be dearly missed by a special cousin, Lou Ann Logue, and her fiancé, Prinze Purcell, of Myrtle Beach, SC. His ex-wife and mother of his children is Donna Schenning of Clearville, PA. Gary had a close relationship with many family members and friends and will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank the Critical Care staff at Conway Medical Center for the excellent care that Gary received.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in his honor be sent to Jamestown Baptist Church, 2907 4 th Avenue, Conway, SC 29527.

A celebration of life service will be held at Jamestown Baptist Church, on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, with a time of visitation from 12 noon to 1 pm, services to follow.
