George Dargan Stokes' Obituary
George Dargan Stokes, 80, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away on May 28th, 2017.
George was born on August 12th, 1936 in Florence, SC, a son to the late Evander Bill Stokes Sr. and Tiny Stokes (King).
In life, George served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He served his community as a paramedic, working for both the Horry County EMS and Florence County Sheriff's Department until he retired. He was also a 33rd degree Mason.
George is survived by a large and loving family, including his sons Robert Stokes andGeorge Stokes Jr. (Jerry), daughter Sabrina Stokes Myers (Russ), stepdaughters Sheila Jones, and Dean Kelsy; stepsonLanny Thompson, brothers Bill Stokes (Helen) and Richard Stokes (Vicki), 12 grandchildren andfive great-grandchild and countless extended family members and friends.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine Stokes, his parents, his brother Larry Stokes and his sister Linda Cockman.
A memorial service will be held at the Seaside Masonic Lodge 941 Hwy 501 Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 on Friday June 2nd, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
He will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
