Haley Bridget-Lee
Swanson
October 15, 1999 – January 26, 2022
Haley Bridget-Lee Swanson of Conway, SC passed away suddenly in her home on January 26, 2022 at the young age of 22.
Haley was born in Stamford, CT October 15, 1999. She attended both Bethel and New Milford Public Schools in CT and Horry Georgetown Technical College in Conway, SC.
She is survived by her loving mother Franci Swanson of Conway, SC, father Louis Swanson of Seymour, CT, sister Brittany Harrington (Peter), niece Olivia Harrington, nephew Weston Harrington of New Milford, CT, godparents Ernest and Magdalene Jeffers, grandparents Frank Pabon (Susan), Doreen Flood (Steve), great grandmother Jean Johnstone and predeceased by her grandmother Rosalie Cummings (Joseph) and her great grandfather James Johnstone. She has five aunts and two uncles, and several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins who will miss her dearly.
She considered all her friends and loved ones part of her ever growing extended family. We would say Haley never met anyone she didn't want to make her friend.
Haley had a love for dance at a very young age. She danced at several Connecticut studios and won countless awards and accolades for such. Haley was an avid volunteer and helped out at the Northville Baptist Church, Village Arts Center of New Milford, New Milford Social Services and Loaves & Fishes. She was a "big sister" and student teacher at Academy of Dance Arts and Starr's Studio of Dance and a yearly volunteer for Relay for Life.
Haley loved the outdoors, camping with her butterfly sisters, target shooting and exploring nature. She was an ally of the LGBTQ community, active in mental health awareness and an advocate for bullying prevention. Her love for children, the elderly, animals and differently abled persons was a strong conviction of hers.
After Haley's graduation at New Milford High School, she moved to Conway, SC where she began her college life. She became involved in HGTC student events board as well as volunteering in her own community. Haley loved God, her family and friends and loved being loved. She hoped one day to open a performing arts school in the Myrtle Beach area that specialized in bringing differently abled children and abled children together regardless of their abilities and financial backgrounds to perform together.
Haley's church service will be held February 12, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Bridget Church, Stamford, CT followed by a Celebration of Life (Haley's Way) from 1-4 PM at Anthony's Lake Club, Danbury, CT. She requested no one wear black, she wanted a sea of colors and laughter for her mother and sister. So please bring your best stories, poems, songs and dances a mic will be available for all to share.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to any of Haley's causes noted above.
