Harold K Granger 85, Murrells Inlet, SC, died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on November 14, 2025.

He had suffered a stroke in September and never fully recovered. His daughter, Carmen became his full time caregiver. The family is much appreciative of the love and care she gave during his final weeks.

Harold was born in Columbia , SC in his home in Olympia Mills. He was raised in Olympia Mill Village with all family members working in the mill. He graduated from Columbia High School and then joined the Coast Guard. After serving his time in Vietnam , he left the Coast Guard for a career in law enforcement. He was a deputy with the Richland County Sheriffs Department. He later became head of security at Tapp's Department stores and then personnel director. He left in 1985 to pursue a career with Waccamaw  Pottery ( Myrtle Beach ) as their Loss Prevention Officer for all of the Southeastern stores. He retired from Waccamaw and enjoyed his time with his beloved cats, doing projects in the house and the yard.

He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years , Glenda . He was also predeceased by his parents , Paul and Carrie Granger and his sister Jenny Branch. He leaves behind 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and his cats!

His request was to not have a formal service. His family will have a celebration of life at a later time.
