Obituary

Petty Officer 1st Class Homer Ernest Lee Jr, 75, peacefully passed away at his Marion SC home on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 3:18 pm. Mr. Lee was a Veteran of The United States Navy. He served two tours during the Vietnam War. He was a boiler tender on the USS Oklahoma and the USS Ticonderoga. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Mr. Lee was born on October 29, 1941 in Georgetown, SC to Homer E. Lee Sr and Juanita S Smith. On February 10, 1959 Mr. Lee joined the United States Navy.

Mr. Lee was a brave and loyal sailor, as well as a patient and loving father and husband. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Ruth Lee (D. September 10, 2009) whom he married on July 23, 1971, and daughters, Pamela Kaye Sloan (D. February 14, 2007), and Doris Irene Beauregard (D. October 11, 1987).

He is survived by his daughter, Betty Victoria Brandi (James Allen Sigmon), his son, Homer Ernest Lee III (Ashleigh Barton-Lee), eight grandchildren; Anthony Paul Beauregard, Tracey Lee Martin, Christopher Jordon Lee, Victoria Irene Sloan, David Hugh Sloan, Bryant McKenzie Barton-Lee, Reese Clayton Lee, and Reagen Gale Lee and his six great grandchildren; Keri Kaye Martin, Anthony Thomas Martin, Justus Betty Rose Beauregard, Alice Olivia Irene Beauregard, Alexander Paul Beauregard, James Axley Monroe, as well as three sisters; Mary Lee Carter, Elaine Lee Dancy and Kay Lee Smith, and two brothers; Robert Edwin Lee, and Daniel Alton Lee, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Services and Internment will be held at The Florence National Cemetery on Friday, August 25th at 2:00 PM.
