James Herbert Canterbury passed away June 21, 2017 at home with family in Myrtle Beach, SC.

James grew up in Frame, WV and raised his family in Dunbar, WV.Hewas a graduate of Elkview High School class of 1955. He served in the US Air Force for four years, andretired from UPS after31 years, and was a member of Teamsters Local Union #175.

James was preceded in death by parents Samuel W. and Lillie Samples Canterbury, and sisters Kathryn Jones, and Helen Grace Thomas.

Survivors include his wife Janet (Taylor) Canterbury; daughter Monica Beach(husband Paul); son Stephen Canterbury; brother Charles Canterbury (Wife Charlotte); grandson Samuel Beach; two step grand children.

James never met a stranger and he loved to eat.

Burial will be held at a later date at DCKMSVC Cemeteryin Dunbar, WV. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Regency Hospice 600 Garden City Connector Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
