James H. Thomas, age 86, of Myrtle Beach SC passed away Friday June 2nd 2017.

He was born in Freeport, NY to the late Joseph and Elaine (Dunbar) Thomas on June 20th, 1930. He was the widow of his beloved wife A. Jeanne (Zweck). He was the father to Gary and his wife Susan of Aiken SC, Mark and his wife Debra of Cheshire CT, Lisa and her husband Eric Faret of Deer Park NY, Dean and his wife Dorothy of West Islip NY and raised his niece Holly and her husband Jeff Bolick of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was also the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Keith Thomas of Copake NY.

He and his wife raised their family in North Merrick NY before retiring to Myrtle Beach SC. He served two years in the US Navy followed by a long career as a Civil Engineer for the County of Nassau. He was anavid railroad modeler, enjoyed traveling and played golf.

A memorial service is being planned for Saturday July 22nd 2017 in Deer Park NY with a ceremony following at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale NY.
