Janet Mary (Minor) Rowe, 62, disabled US Army veteran, passed away peacefully on November 26th, 2016 at her Myrtle Beach home with friends by her side.
Jan was born February 28th, 1954 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Francis and Wilma Minor.
Jan is preceded in death by her beloved husband James Michael Rowe, her parents, Francis F. Minor and Wilma Conrad Minor and a great niece Alexis Hennessy.
She is survived by her beloved furry child Powder Puff, two sisters, Anne Marie Minor and Kathleen Frances Minor, a brother, Stephen Francis Minor, nieces Allyson Hennessy, Katie Minor Kheel, Merideth Hennessy Stifler and a nephew Stephen Michael Minor along with several great nieces.
Jan leaves behind some very dear friends, Kim Hardee and family, Kira Payne and family, her Berkshire friends and neighbors, York Pennsylvania friends, T-Bonz Barefoot Landing gang, Beacon Hospice Care workers and First Light Home Care.
Jan was a United States Army PFC specializing in physical therapy at Walter Reed, worked in child development and visual arts before retiring to Myrtle Beach in 1999. She enjoyed the love of her husband, the beach, traveling, dancing, her Red Sox and helping other veterans. She was a former member of the Newcomers Club of the Grand Strand and a proud contributor to the Wounded Warriors, Veteran's Cafe and Bra's Across the Water, Street Reach and the Myrtle Beach Humane Society.
A celebration of Jan's life will be announced and a private burial at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
