Jean-Pierre Bérard, 84, passed away peacefully at home in Little River, SC on December 30, 2023. He was born in Orléans, France and was one of six children. Prior to moving to the United States at age 27, Jean-Pierre served in the French Navy. In 1966, he left France and moved to Greensboro, North Carolina where he met his wife, Elaine. The couple soon relocated to Livermore, California. Jean-Pierre worked for many years as the Chef for the Zeta Psi fraternity at UC Berkeley. He loved his job and made many life-long friends. In 2006, Jean-Pierre and Elaine retired and moved back to the East Coast, Little River, SC. He spent his retirement years preparing gourmet French meals for friends and family, crafting wooden ship models, playing chess, and relaxing with his dog, Sully.

In addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, Elaine, Jean-Pierre is survived by his daughter, Catherine; sons, Derek and Edouard; siblings, Jean Luc, Marie Jeanne, and Françoise; and seven grandchildren.

Jean-Pierre's memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. We will miss him dearly.
