Jeannette Altman Callahan was born January 15, 1958 in Miami, Florida at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of Melba Anderson Altman and Harry Eugene Altman. She attended Conway High School.

She worked for Bank Air Columbia and also worked as a cashier. Jeanette married Larry Oneil Callahan, a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. They resided in Conway. Larry died on January 19, 2020.

Jeannette passed away on May 11, 2026 at Mcleod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC. She will be buried with her husband at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.

Jeannette is survived by her sister, Janice S. Turner and her nephew, Haynes K. Turner.
