Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Jeffery "Scott" Hall, who left this world peacefully and entered Heaven on March 31, 2026, surrounded by love and family.  Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, and his love will remain with us always.

Scott was born in Moundsville, West Virginia, and moved to North Carolina as a young boy with his family. He wasn't afraid of adventure and was always eager to learn new skills, gaining many talents throughout his life. Through all his career opportunities, his favorite title was being the "Best Bread Man in the World," proudly distributing for Flowers Bakery throughout North and South Carolina.

Scott was a devoted husband and soulmate to Karen "Kare Bear" for over 30 years. Their bond was deep and unwavering true partnership built on love, faith, and commitment.

He was a loving father to Brandi (Chad) Church, Bradley (Hope) Wiles, and Emily Hall Blake, and a proud grandfather to six treasured grandchildren: Carson Wiles, Graycen Skidmore, Hunter Church, Bailey Church, Easton Wiles, and Myles Blake. They will carry forward his legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family.

Scott is also survived by his brother, Mike (Sherry) Hall; sister, Cheryl (Dennis) Depew; stepfather, Clate Reeves; and stepbrothers, Jeff Reeves and Ricky (Betty) Reeves. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Virginia Bauguess; sisters-in-law, Jean (Lynn) Reid and Cindy (Mitch) Hawks; brothers-in-law, Randy (Melissa) Woodring and Kylan Bauguess; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special cousin, Lorrie (Greg) Englehart, along with many other cherished family members in West Virginia and Tennessee.

Moments that brought him great joy and created lasting memories included camping with friends and family, enjoying the beach, and golf outings spent on the course with Bradley and his nephew, Kevin Pennell.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Reeves; brother, John Hall; brother-in-law, Steve Woodring, father- and stepmother-in-law, Don and Donna Woodring; and stepfather-in-law, Ray Bauguess.

Scott will be remembered for his generous heart, warm spirit, and the way he made everyone feel welcome and valued. Whether through quiet moments at home or time spent with family, he created memories that will be held close forever.

A celebration of life will be held on a later date, where family and friends will gather to remember and honor a life so deeply loved.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Coastal Cancer Center and Crescent Hospice for their love, care, and support during Scott's cancer journey.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either of these organizations in memory of Jeffery "Scott" Hall.
