Jerry Wade Black, 79, of Surfside, SC passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024. He was born in Easley, SC on June 12, 1945 to the late Wade and Josie Black. He leaves behind his daughter, Kelly Cox and her husband Andrew of Westminster and his son Brooks Black of Anderson, his granddaughters Ana, Savannah, Paisley and Kenley. He also leaves behind his siblings: Harold Black (deceased), Roger (Beth) Black, Connie Mason, Donna Jackson, Gary Black, Mickey Black, Pam Black (deceased), and Kimberly Burkhalter as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and greats.

Jerry proudly served in the United States Army for several years and went on to serve in the National Guard for many more. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley, SC. Jerry was known for never meeting a stranger and loved talking and reminiscing over his years in the military as well as his many adventures fishing and camping. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A small service will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 11:00 am at Beulah Baptist Church, 2651 Hwy. 66, Loris, SC 29569.
