Joan Audrey Wood, 85, of Myrtle Beach passed away peacefully on January 19, 2018. Joan was born on May 28, 1932 in New Britain, CT, a daughter to the late Frank and Gertrude Kimball. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wood Jr. and a brother, Clarence Kimball.
In life, Joan was very active in her community and was involved in many organizations and with her church. She was also a very loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters Deborah Marin (Leroy) and Jo-Ann Wood, sons Harold Wood III and Craig Wood (Michele), 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and special friends.
A memorial service will be held in Joan's honor on Thursday, January 25th at 2:00 PM at Socastee United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in her honor at 5575 Dick Pond Road in Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.
