Longs, SC- John Sobocinski Jr. better known as Jack, passed away in the comfort of his home from lung cancer, on February 28, 2014 at age 73. Jack was born February 12, 1941 in Port Chester, NY.He was the son of the late John and Lucille Sobocinski.He attended Greenwich High School and Joined the Navy.He worked in sales with ultra-sonic cleaning. Jack was an avid fisherman, created beautiful paintings, spectacular gardens and waterfalls and loved to cook. Jack leaves behind his sisters, Susan Mead and Dawn Guevares of Danbury, CT.He was pre-deceased by his sister Donna Lucas, also of Danbury, CT.He will be missed by his former wife, Patricia Sobocinski of Woodbury, CT, his daughters, Stacey Bassett of Waterbury, CT and Tara Pollio and her husband Michael of East Dorset, VT, four grandchildren Allison and Andrea Bassett and Kevin and Owen Pollio. A special thanks goes out to Jack's good friends, his "brothers", Shorty and Jackie for taking such good care of him.
