QUINN, JONAS DOUGLAS, SR. ("DOUG")
March 4, 1943 – November 29, 2020

Jonas Douglas ("Doug") Quinn, Sr., 77, of Myrtle Beach, SC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 29, 2020, after a valiant battle with cancer. Mr. Quinn was born on March 4, 1943 in Spartanburg County, SC, to the late Clarence E. Quinn, Sr. and Lois Godfrey Quinn.

He is survived by his daughter, Lois Quinn Clardy (and husband, Steve), of Myrtle Beach; his son, Jonas Douglas Quinn, Jr. ("Buck"), of Myrtle Beach; three grandchildren, Thomas & Skylar Quinn, of Conway, and Jonas Douglas Quinn, III, of Garden City; two brothers, Curtis and James Quinn, both of Campobello, SC, and a sister, Judy Humphries, of Landrum, SC. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Eugene and Mickey Quinn, and a sister, Faye Quinn, all of Spartanburg, SC.

Mr. Quinn was passionate about the Lord, his family, friends, church, southern gospel music, and NASCAR. In his younger years, he sang bass in various church quartets, and at one time, also drove for his church's bus ministry, in Spartanburg, SC. Some of his fondest memories in life were of growing up with his siblings, of whom he loved dearly. He always said that no matter how lean the times were, he had the best brothers and sisters anyone could ever have. He was a proud Papa to his three grandchildren, and always prayed for them to know and love the Lord, of Whom he also loved. Even on his dying bed, he praised the Lord quite often, amidst his incredible pain.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at Beacon Baptist Church (7921 Hwy 544, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588); officiated by Pastor David Moyer. Due to covid safety guidelines, social distancing and the wearing of masks will be required.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beacon Baptist Church, at the above address, out of his great love and appreciation for his church family. They were a tremendous blessing to him in the years that he was a member there.
