Joyce Mitchell, age 75, wife of the late Robert Henry Mitchell, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Athens, TN, a daughter of the late Edward Mason and Ersa Smith Mason. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Squires.

Joyce was a member of Grand Strand Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach and was the #1 supporter of the Alex Mitchell Fan Club.

Survivors include her two sons, David Markley of Myrtle Beach, Alex Mitchell of Conway; her grandson, David Markley, Jr.; her three sisters, Jeanette Crisp of Dade City, FL, June Hayes of Baltimore, MD, Linda Heath of Lumpkin, GA; her two brothers, Edward Mason, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Les Mason of California; and her beloved dog, Elvis, who never left her side and was a great comfort during her illness.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, March 28th at Grand Strand Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach.
