Kelly Murphy Long, 57, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away suddenly at her home on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

She was born in Holliston, Massachusetts as a daughter of Robert and Sheila Murphy. She graduated from Holliston High School, class of 1984, and earned her BA at Westfield State University, class of 1988. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts for over 30 years, retiring in 2022.

Kelly was the proud mother of Brendan Long of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Matthew Long of Jersey City, New Jersey. She was also survived by her two siblings, Kevin Murphy and his wife Marci, and Kerry Kester and her husband Dave. Not only is Kelly leaving behind many family members, but also countless close friends.

During her long career at Blue Cross, she made many lifelong friends. Kelly's dream was to retire in Myrtle Beach, as she considered it her "happy place." After retiring, she drove her golf cart to the beach every day. She enjoyed getting together with friends and neighbors for "First Fridays," spending time with her long-term boyfriend Mark Polomarenko of Holliston, Massachusetts, and watching her "Grand Dogs" in Virginia.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends in Myrtle Beach in October (time and place to be determined).

Additionally, a Celebration of Life for family and friends in Massachusetts will be held on her birthday, November 25th (time and place to be determined).
