Lucinda "Cindy" McCoy, 72, of Surfside Beach, SC passed away July 30, 2023, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Mrs. McCoy was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 4, 1950, daughter of the late Paul and Mozelle Bishop. She received her teaching degree from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, MI.  Mrs. McCoy was a retired educator, having taught for over 30 years in Horry County Schools and in the state of Michigan. She had a lifelong passion for teaching and helping others.

Survived by one son, Dennis Paul McCoy of Surfside Beach, and one daughter, Jennie McCoy Loyed (Justin) of Florence, one sister, Susan (Robert) Johnston of Peachtree City, Georgia, four grandchildren, Hudson Paul McCoy, Andrew Larkin Loyed, Henry Austin Loyed, and Addison Ann Loyed.

Funeral services will be held at Live Oak Church on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 3pm. Family will receive friends from 1-3pm at the church. Burial will be held in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan at a later date.
