Mary M. Stafford 82 of Murrells Inlet, SC and formerly of Elizabeth, NJ passed away January 4, 2017.
She was born April 12,1934 in Jersey City, NJ a daughter of the late Joseph and Cecilia (Stein) McCarthy. She was predeceased by her husband Charles A. Stafford III; sister Patricia McCloud; and brother Michael McCarthy.
Mary retired as an Administrative Supervisor from the Union County NJ Probation Department in 1997, and she relocated to South Carolina. She Loved her family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.
Survivors include daughters Kathleen Hill(Charles Sigmund), Carolyn Schiessl(George), Charlene Jones, and Lindsay Hazard(Ted); grandchildren Gregory Hill, Melanie Valvo, Brittany Guinane, Thomas Hill, Steven Schiessl, Richard Jones, Charles Jones; great grandchildren Declan Guinane, Luca Valvo, Deirdre Guinane, Seamus Guinane, and Adeline Valvo; sibilings Joanne Flannery, Dennis McCarthy, Cecilia Ryan, Kathleen Baldoni, Ann Scriff; numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held 11:00am on January 21, 2017 at St.Genevieve Church in Elizabeth, NJ. A private burial will be held.
