Michael A
Pink
September 27, 2023
"6 foot 2 with a Smile"
Michael A Pink unexpectedly passed away in his home in Murrells Inlet, SC on September 27, 2023.
He was the husband of Zandra M. Pink and they shared 57 years together. Father of Michael R. Pink (Kirsten) and Stephanie A. Pink. Grandfather (Pooh) to McClean M. Pink, Michael F. Pink, Patrick M. Cox, Alyson A. Cox, and Shannon R. Cox.
Born December 22, 1940 in Schenectady, NY Mike was the son of Alice Ankiweicz and Ralph Phillips. After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School in 1958, he joined the Army and served 3 years. After his service was complete, he worked both at General Electric in Schenectady and Waterford, NY plants for a total of 38 years as a steam fitter and welder.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding and NASCAR. After retiring he and his wife bought a second home in Murrells Inlet, SC where he was residing when he passed. For over 20 years he and Zandra drove back and fourth between the home on Wilbur Road in Schuylerville to their home in Murrells Inlet. Even though he grew up a city boy, he was a farmer at heart. In 1977, be bought land with a home, pool, and horse barn and the Pink farm began.
He loved his family. He was generous, warm, thoughtful and fun. He was the life of the party, and a light of joy to anyone that knew him. He could fix just about anything for anyone and he so often did.
He loved us all so well that the pain we feel now is just proof of that Love.
Mike will be put to rest at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
No services are planned as of yet.
