Nancy
Markowski
May 28, 2026
Nancy Markowski, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 28, 2026.
Nancy, born to William and Marion Bauer, was originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania. She attended Central High School and later continued her education at Keystone College.
Nancy was a loving mother and grandmother whose family meant everything to her. She was strong, hardworking, independent, and full of determination. She had a way of pushing through life’s challenges, and she loved her family with that same strength.
Later in life, Nancy made her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she worked at the Myrtle Beach airport and enjoyed being close to the ocean. She loved the beach, walking by the water, and the calm that came with being near the shore.
Nancy had a fun and playful side that her family will always treasure. She loved Marvel movies and looked forward to attending Comic Con with her children every year. Those trips became a special family tradition filled with laughter, excitement, and memories that will be carried forward for years to come.
One of Nancy’s greatest joys was being Nana. She adored her grandchildren and loved spoiling them every chance she had. Whether she was spending time with them, helping care for them, or simply being present in their lives, her love for them was constant and unmistakable.
Her family will remember her love, her strength, her stubbornness, her humor, and the way she kept fighting even when life became incredibly difficult. Nancy leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will carry her memory forward every day.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Carol Diskin; her children, Anthony Markowski, David Markowski and his wife, Holly Markowski, and Melissa Balunas and her husband, Kyle Balunas; her grandchildren, Aiden Gilroy, Isabella Markowski, Lydia Markowski, Aurora Balunas, Asher Balunas, and Noel Markowski; and many family members and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone who offered love, prayers, visits, calls, and support during Nancy’s illness.
Service arrangements will be shared by the family at a later date.
