Obituary

Patsy Albert Perpetua, a/k/a Pasquale or Pat, passed away at home, on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the age of 84, after a brief battle with brain cancer.
Patsy was a first generation Italian American born in Brooklyn, NY to his loving mother, Antoinette, on September 2, 1934. Pat is survived by his loving wife, Joy, of 53 years, and his two children, Kimberly (nee Perpetua) Schwender in Virginia and Gregory Perpetua of Florida, as well as three Grandchildren, Stephan, and Valerie Schwender and Tanner Perpetua. Pat is also survived by his brothers, Frank Perpetua, and Marty Gazzani.
Patsy served in the Army on a Browning Automatic Rifle Squad in Europe. Pat worked the five Burroughs of New York City for nearly 40 years as an Account Executive for Sinclair and then Petroleum Heat and Power. Patsy was also an avid paddleball player who participated in various tournaments on Long Island from the 1960's through the 1990's. After living in Lynbrook, NY for 31 years, upon his retirement, he and his wife, Joy, moved to Myrtle Beach, SC in December 1999. There, he enjoyed working as a Greeter at The Southern Market in Myrtle Beach until its closing.
As a voracious reader of world events and culture, Patsy was a treasure trove of wisdom and knowledge that he loved sharing. To the people who know Patsy, he will be remembered for his dignity, kindness, compassion, and respect to everyone.
Patsy stated working at the age of 9 and was conscientious at every job he undertook, but was always mindful that his most important job was husband, father, and friend. Patsy Perpetua will forever be loved and missed by all.
A memorial for Patsy Perpetua will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3024 Holmestown Road, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588
