With deep sadness, we mourn the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all.
Preston Garner,72,passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024 in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on March 27,1951 in Dillon, South Carolina to the late Zannie D. Garner and Nancy Elizabeth Thompson. Where later in life started his devoted career to construction.
Preston's greatest joys in life were his family, his wife, kids, grandchildren and great-grand children. He loved to spend time with his family, travel , and to go camping. There was never a dull moment with Preston. With his passion being in construction he made sure he was a hardworking man and he lived through that everyday He loved life and he loved the sands of Myrtle Beach South Carolina. There is no doubt that he will be greatly missed. He had a big support system and a heart of gold.
Left to cherish Preston's memory are his adoring wife of 54 years, Virgina Phillips Garner of Myrtle Beach South Carolina; his children, Preston Lee Garner jr of Myrtle Beach South Carolina and Tabitha Dawn Garner of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Austin Peregory and wife Sarah Peregory of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and Ti'Era Peregory of San Antonio,Texas; great grandchildren, Lillieanne Peregory, Alivia Peregory, Brentley Peregory, and Bri'Ella Peregory; Sisters, Mabel Johnson of Trinity North Carolina, Ann Hale and Husband Sammy Hale of Denton, North Carolina ,Otha Cook and Husband James Cook of Denton, North Carolina; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a large, loving, extended family, and many supportive friends and neighbors. Preston was Predeceased by his parents, Zannie D Garner of Trinity,North Carolina, Nancy Elizabeth Thompson of Latta, South Carolina, Step Mother Eutha Garner of Denton, North Carolina, Grandson Joshua Tylor Peregory of San Antonio, Texas,Brothers John Duncan Garner of Latta, and South Carolina, Zannie C Garner of Thomasville, North Carolina.
Preston's heart, smile and personality touched many individuals throughout his life and made an impact on every single life he encountered.
Celebrations of Life will take place in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina at Grand Strand Funeral Home, Condolences may be made at grandstrandandcreamation.com , In lieu of flowers you may give a donation to the family either directly to his wife or on Gofundme at
