Obituary

Rhette (Derrick) Stanley, 68, entered paradise after a short illness on July 18, 2026.

Rhette was a shining star to so many. Her faith never wavered, her heart was always open, and her love was freely given. She showed us what it meant to live with grace, to love deeply, and to trust God through every chapter of life.

Rhette leaves behind the love of her life, her devoted husband Rodney Stanley, with whom she shared forty-seven beautiful years of marriage and a lifetime of treasured memories. Their love story began long before they said, "I do", dating for years, going hunting together and building a bond that would last a lifetime.

For fifty-two summers, she faithfully sat along many beaches, watching him surf with pride and a smile. She cherished the simple moments which have now become some of their greatest memories. Together they built a life filled with unwavering love, deep faith, laughter, and steadfast devotion. While their hearts are separated for now, their love remains an enduring testament to a life beautifully shared.

Above all, she was a treasured Nannette to her grandchildren. The love she gave them, the memories they shared, and the lessons she left behind will forever remain a beautiful part of their lives.

Rhette was predeceased by her father, Carl “Big Jules” Julius Derrick; her daughter, Polly Sage Stanley Savage; and maternal grandparents, Sump and Bertie Mishoe.

Surviving is her mother Polly Mishoe Derrick, daughter Carley Juel Stanley, her beloved grandchildren, whom she adored, Matti Jule Savage, Drake Wayne Savage and their father Matt Savage.

Rhette is also survived by her siblings, her sisters Julaan Derrick and Merinda (Steve) Luse: brother Dirk (Michelle) Derrick.

Rhette leaves behind many nieces and nephews, Ashton Prince and her son Brody; Dakota (Taylor) Derrick and their son Abel, and daughter Winnie, Peyton Derick; Jentry Luse; Steven (Amber) Luse and their son Stevie; Juan Luse; Jennifer (Jerome) Jacobson, and their sons, Benjamin and Eric. Liz Stanley and her daughter, Eden; Julie Stanley (Patrick) Stowe and their children, George, Cora, and Carr, Brittany (Austin) Bischoff and their children, T.J Jones; Hannah Stanley (Blake) Reavis and their children Mckenzie, Blakley, and Briggs; Judson Stanley.

Rhette also leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-laws, Dow (Rebecca) Stanley; Neala Stanley Jones, Melody Smart; Randy Stanley. Along with her special cousins Judy Brown and Tracey Kite, as well as many lifelong friends.

Following Rhette’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Her family will gather at Advancing The Kingdom for a memorial service on August 8th at 11 a.m. to celebrate her life, share memories, and honor the love and legacy she leaves behind. Family and friends will gather in the fellowship hall immediately after the service.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
