Originally born in Queens NY, Richard lived in Gardner, MA for 44 years where he worked for People's Fuel, and D. Rhodes Paving. When he retired, he enjoyed delivering auto parts for O'Reillys where he was able to meet new people and create long term friendships.

Richard was married to Katherine (Persson) Chartrand of Fitchburg, MA for 44 years before she passed in 2015. He is survived by his current wife of 5 years, MaryAnn (Jalutkewicz) Chartrand of Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2023, Richard moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he was able to live out one of his hopes of getting away from New England winters.

Richard was a proud father of 4 daughters: Laura Shea Beaureguard of Gardner, MA. Christine (Chartrand) White of Myrtle Beach, SC. Tina (Chartrand) Lissabet of Gardner, MA. Angela (Chartrand) Campuzano of Fitchburg, MA.

Richard was loved by his 5 grandchildren: Ashley Decoteau of Gardner, MA. Alysha (White) Reardon of Orange, MA. Kayla White of Westminster, MA. Also, Samuel Campuzano and Olivia Campuzano of Fitchburg, MA. Along with his grandchildren, he got to love and be loved by his 4 great grandchildren: Alexis, Damian and Jaymez Yelle of Orange, MA and Elli Miller of Westminster, MA.
Beyond blood, Richard was considered family to many people.

Richard was a fun and loving person who would help everyone, and had a special personality where he touched the hearts of everyone he met. His smile and laugh lit up any room. Richard's warmth had a far reach, and he will be greatly missed by so many. 78 years is too young for a person like him to leave us so soon.
