Obituary

Richard Francis Riedinger, 69, of Myrtle Beach SC died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

Born in Hackettstown New Jersey, he was a 1974 graduate of Hackettstown High School and 1976 graduate of The County College of Morris. He was the superintendent of Union Cemetery in Hackettstown from 1989 to 2004.  He then moved with his family to Myrtle Beach South Carolina where he worked at The City of Myrtle Beach until his retirement in October of 2020.  He was a member of Belin United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet SC.

He was a lifelong landscaper, and it showed in his meticulous care of his yard all throughout his life.  He loved to make people laugh, he was quick with a joke, a nick name, or to share a facebook post.  When he lived in New Jersey, he loved to hunt, and enjoyed the peaceful solitude of being in the woods.  He was a great listener and didn't give advice (unless you asked), just listened, but most of all he absolutely loved his family.

He was the son of the late Vincent & Joan (Teets) Riedinger.  He is survived by his Wife of 45 years, Marjorie (Samber) Riedinger: Son Eric Daniel Riedinger of Lyman SC: Daughter, Laura Elizabeth Williams and husband, Sean of Duncan SC: Son, Ryan Vincent Riedinger of Alexandria VA: Sister, Caren Riedinger and husband Lawrence Kimble of Myrtle Beach, SC: and grandchildren, Owen Benjamin and River Rose Williams.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Community center on Saturday, January 31st at 1:00 at 6851 King Arthur Drive, Myrtle Beach SC.

The family invites all who knew and loved Rich to join in celebrating his life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, Rich would have appreciated donations to a charity that aids the less fortunate in your community (eg: homeless shelters, food banks, or substance abuse clinics).
