Robert Carl
Dewolfe
November 17, 1943 – June 18, 2024
Robert (Bob) Carl DeWolfe was born in Holyoke, MA to his doting parents, Bernetta and Clarence DeWolfe. He was raised in South Hadley, MA and graduated from Western New England University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bob began his work life with Gilbane Building Company and rose from Project Engineer to Project Executive over an illustrious 30 year career with the company. He managed the construction of large commercial projects such as the National Air and Space Museum, World Bank Headquarters, and the National Archives II (all in the Washington, D.C. area), as well as the National Aquarium (Baltimore, MD). Bob was twice selected "Regional Builder of the Year" by Gilbane. In 1992, he was nominated as "Man of the Year" by Engineering News Record Magazine. After retirement, Bob worked for 2 non-profit housing organizations - Habitat for Humanity and Southwest Visions. He also enjoyed collecting and repairing antique clocks and watches.
Bob was wed to Mary (Budd-Kilpatrick) in 1991, and she survives him. He is also survived by two wonderful children from a previous marriage, Michelle DeWolfe and Matthew DeWolfe (Tammy), two grandchildren, Jack and Antonina Tumpak, and a sister, Ruth Culver. Another sister, Beverly Roberts and Bob's parents predeceased him.
Bob requested his memorial service be held at his favorite church in Baltimore, and arrangements will be made for a later date.
