Obituary

Ronald Dale Browning passed away peacefully on July 06, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC.

Ronnie was born in Whitman, West Virginia, on April 28, 1944 and will be remembered for his warm heart, his unwavering dedication to his family and his lifelong passion for the game of golf. Golfing was a place of peace, reflection and understanding. Whether he was walking the fairways at Myrtle Beach International or just enjoying a round with his golfing buddies, he approached the game with grace and respect.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Dottie) Stevens Browning, his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Stephen Booth, his three granddaughters-Ashley and Steven Streetman, Hannah and Hunter Tingler and Leah Booth. He enjoyed sharing peanut butter M&Ms with his two great-grandsons—Damon Tingler and Michael Streetman. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and John Thompson and his sister-in-law, Judy Browning, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is the son of Bernard and Ocie Browning, who are deceased, along with his sister, JoAnn Browning Frasure, his brothers --Bobby Browning and David Browning. He was a graduate of Russell High School/Class of 1962, Russell, Kentucky. He retired from AK Steel as an electrician and EMT with over 40 years of service. He was a part of the founding of the Flatwoods Lions Club, Flatwoods, Kentucky, where he and Dottie resided before moving to Myrtle Beach, SC.

After golf, he loved to cook for his family for all holidays, including his famous she-crab soup, crab dip and turkey with his delicious gravy with hot rolls. So many more delicious dishes he made for them.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of walking the course of life with him.
