Ruth Widmann died peacefully on July 26, 2020 with her daughter Kristine and granddaughter Samantha, cats, and step-dog at her side.  Ruth lived a full and energetic life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.  As a second generation American of a family that survived the great depression, she found love young in life and married before her father was called off to war.   As a young mother with a husband in college, life was a struggle at times, but they both made the best of it and pushed forward.   Together they raised five completely different and wildly diverse children whom they loved, nonetheless.  You could never shock mom, she just rolled with the punches, somewhat reluctantly at times.  She made sure her children had just what they needed, while dad made sure we had every opportunity to succeed.  Mom and dad weren't perfect, but they always strived to do better and make a better life for their family.  Thank you, mom and dad, for showing us the way and making us better citizens of this great country.  As we grew up you saw the realities of our generation and you did your best to deal with it.  Your impact on our lives was substantial.  Ruth was a kind, welcoming, tolerant, loving wife who took care of her husband, Don, to the end.  Mom, we will remember you with lots of love and a warm smile.  You are missed.
