Sallie Louiser “Lou” Parnell, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on August 29, 2026.

She was born on September 14, 1931. The 3rd child of the late Judson and Sullie Snipes Dennis she was raised in the Muddy Creek Community of Hemingway, SC. She worked at the Elastic Corporation, Tupperware and proudly spent many years as a devoted farmer’s wife.

Known as Granny Lou to her grandchildren, she was committed to her faith and loved the Lord, treasured her family and had a special appreciation for birds, flowers, books, and puzzles.

She was predeceased by her husband Andrew T. Parnell, daughter Verna Mae Ard (O’Neil), sons, Buddy and Billy Joe McDaniel, brothers, Joe (Lucy), Dennis, CJ (Odell) Dennis, Thomas Dennis, Randy (Bonnie) Dennis, sisters, Myrtis (Harvey) Powell, Gloria (Al) Thompson, Emma (Mert) Poston, and Ella “Dolly” (Frankie) Harbeson.

Surviving are two brothers, Judy “Bubba” (Linda) Dennis and George "Q Ball" (Ruth) Dennis, daughters, Cindy (John) Hudson and Shirley (Larry) Byrd and Dale “Dee Dee” Feagin, who was like a son to her; Grandchildren: Doris (Mike) Shutt, Denny (Lori) Feagin, Shawn Byrd, and Heather (John) McCloskey; Step-Grandchildren David (Meredith) Hudson and Tierney (Ryan) Norris; Great-Grandchildren: Chad, Mallory, Ryan, Toni, Jessup, Macy (Mayson), Lindsey, Macoy, Josh (Zoe), Crystal, Liberty, Andrew, Daniel, and Molly; Step-Great Grandchild: Edgar; Great-Great Grandchildren: Feagin Raye, Sawyer, Grayson, Waylon, Adalynn and Remington.

In lieu of flowers family ask that donations be made to Caring and Sharing Food Bank, Hemingway, SC.
