Myrtle Beach, SC – Sandra Jean Putnam of Myrtle Beach, SC went to be with her Lord on Tuesday April 30, 2024, after a courageous fight of colon cancer, at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born on August 21, 1950, in Cortland NY, she was the daughter of the late George Paul Hajney and Helena Jeanette Terrell.

Sandra graduated from Dryden High School in 1968.  She met her loving husband in September 1968 and were wed on November 29, 1969. She worked for Smith Corona, Cortland Plant.  She started a beauty shop in her home after Smith Corona.  She started working for BOCES in Ithaca, NY in 1987 as a teacher's aide.  She worked in Groton and Dryden Central School Districts until they moved to North Carolina in 1997.  She worked for Union County School at the Wolfe Building.  She retired in 2010 when they bought a house in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Sandy loved working with children, cutting hair and her precious time at the beach.  Her love for crafting showed in everything she created.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Sydney R. Putnam, her beautiful children Stacey J Whitsell-Dickenson of Lansing, NY, Shawn C. Putnam (Kate) of Horseheads, NY, her grandchildren Charles S. Whitsell, Adam J. Dickenson, Brenden and Jacob Van Horn, her great granddaughter Abigail M. Whitsell, her brother John P. Hajney (Sandy) of Concord, NC, her nephew Travis P. Hajney (Amanda) of Halmstead Sweden, her uncle Ronn G. Corl of Cabot AR, many other extended family members and countless friends that she has met along her journey.   She was predeceased by her parents and her niece Sarah Ann Hajney.

At Sandy's request there will be no services.
