Obituary

Steve Calfee, a Myrtle Beach musician & entertainer with his wife, Alyce, since 1972 unexpectedly passed away May 14, 2019 at Grand Strand Hospital, after heart surgery. A Celebration Of Life Cruise will be Sunday, June 23rd. on the Island Time Boat; 101 Fantasy Harbour Blvd. Boarding at 1:30PM.
He was a talented entertainer, singer, harmonica player, guitar player, recording engineer and producer. He performed from 1973-2019 along the Grand Strand at well known places such as The Bowery, The Oasis, Cluie's Golden Ox & Mary Juels, with his wife Alyce, and on the road with the show band "First Class". One of his absolute favorite gigs was playing & sailing for 3 years on the "Barefoot Princess" with Sara & Captain Alan Roland & Captain Tuck. He was so looking forward to continuing playing and doing tours on the waterway with Captain Shane & his wife Kerri, along with Sara Roland on Myrtle Beach's "Island Time" boat. We'll remember him as a kind hearted and loving person with a great sense of humor, a loyal friend, a dog lover & a great husband & partner. He was one of those fortunate people who got to do what he loved in life.
The son of Edwin A. Calfee & Jyme Lynn Staggs, he was born in Longview, Washington & was the stepson of Nell Calfee. He is survived by his wife Alyce, his aunt & uncle Myrna & Tom Stecker, his step-sisters Connie (Scott) Cassell & Darlene (David) Bowers, sister-in-law Karen (John) Christin, niece Kim (Rick) Soldo & Nephew John (Melissa) Harris, son & daughter of the late Roland & Pat Harris & many other wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins & great nieces & nephews.
