Known for her kindness and generosity, Susan was also known for her flair for fashion. She cherished the company of her family, friends, neighbors, and her beloved dogs. Beyond her personal engagements, she remained involved in intellectual pursuits as a member of the Senior Scholars organization in Georgetown, South Carolina. Susan displayed a passion for the natural world through her paintings, a pursuit she continued to enjoy while a resident at The Lakes of Litchfield where she resided for the past 2 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Cunningham; granddaughter, Hanlen Cunningham; son, Mark Cunningham and his husband, Ken Tattersall; stepdaughter, Jill Martin and her husband, Nick; stepson, James Arentsen and extended family.
